By using the platform, you agree to the practices described in this privacy policy. Use of the platform is also subject to our terms and conditions. In this privacy policy, the words “platform” refer to the InventMemories website, “we,” “us,” “our,” and “InventMemories” refer to InventMemories LLC, and ‘you’ and “user” refer to you, the user of InventMemories (Host, Vendor, or Guest).

Your continued use of the platform after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates. This privacy policy has been developed and is maintained in accordance with all applicable national and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations.

2. HOW WE OBTAIN YOUR CONSENT

By using the website and services available on InventMemories, you declare that you have read, understood, and accepted this Privacy Policy, and you give your free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws in the United States, including, as applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other relevant federal or state regulations. Consent is deemed to be voluntarily granted by the user when performing any of the following activities on the platform, without prejudice to others that also involve the collection, use, storage, or processing of personal information:

  • When visiting and browsing the InventMemories website.
  • When registering and creating an account as a Host, Guest, or Provider on the platform.
  • When you publish a space listing as a Host, including property information, photographs, location, and rates.
  • When you publish a service listing as a Provider, including descriptions, rates, images, and availability.
  • When you make a space or service reservation as a Guest through the platform’s reservation system.
  • When you communicate with other users through the InventMemories internal messaging system.
  • When you rate or leave a review about another user (Host, Guest, or Provider) after a reservation.
  • When you complete contact forms, requests, or inquiries available on the website.
  • When you request the withdrawal of funds as a Host or Provider after completing a reservation.
  • When you interact with automated customer service, technical support, or notification features within the platform.
  • When you update your profile, preferences, payment methods, or notification settings.
  • When you provide identifying information for identity verification or regulatory compliance.
  • When you use any other interactive feature or service that requires the processing of personal information.

Continued use of the platform and performance of any of the above activities constitutes an affirmative expression of the user’s consent to the collection, use, and processing of their personal information as described in this Policy. Users may withdraw their consent at any time, without retroactive effect, by communicating through the channels indicated in this policy, although such withdrawal may limit access to or functionality of certain services.

3. TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED

  • InventMemories collects different types of personal data from users who interact with the website and use its services, both actively (when the user provides the information) and passively (when certain data is collected automatically). This data is obtained when users perform activities such as browsing the website, registering on the platform, posting listings, making reservations, communicating with other users, rating reservations, requesting withdrawals, completing forms, among other interactions. The types of data that may be collected include, but are not limited to, the following:

    3.1. Personal data. This includes information that identifies or can identify the user as a natural person. Some examples include:

    • First and last name
    • Date of birth
    • Phone number
    • Postal address
    • Email address
    • Profile photo (if provided voluntarily)
    • Identity document or proof of age (when necessary to verify legal age)

3.2. Registration and profile data. When a user registers as a Host, Guest, or Vendor, data necessary to create and maintain their profile is collected, such as:

  • Username or unique identifier
  • Password (stored in encrypted form)
  • Account type (Host, Guest, or Vendor)
  • Language preferences
  • Biographical description (if provided by the user)
  • Profile picture and other content associated with the profile

3.3. User content. Users can generate and provide content within the platform, such as:

  • Descriptions of spaces or services posted
  • Photographs of properties or services
  • Reviews, ratings, and comments about other users
  • Messages sent through the internal messaging system
  • Any other content that the user voluntarily provides in listings or communications

3.4. Usage data. This includes information about how users interact with the website and the services available, such as:

  • Reservations made and accepted
  • Listings viewed or published
  • Activities carried out within the platform (e.g., profile editing, sending messages, ratings)
  • Date and time of access to certain sections of the site

3.5. Automatically collected data. InventMemories may automatically collect certain technical data through the use of cookies, tags, pixels, and similar technologies, such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and settings
  • Operating system
  • Device used
  • Time zone and approximate geographic location
  • URLs visited before and after entering the site
  • Page response times, download errors, duration of visits to certain pages

3.6. Payment data. When making payments for space or service reservations, or when requesting withdrawals as a Host or Provider, payment and transaction-related information may include:

  • Payment method details (credit card, bank account, or other compatible means)
  • Payment and withdrawal history
  • Transaction identifiers

This data is processed by external payment service providers and is not stored directly by InventMemories.

3.7. Analytical and tracking data: To understand and improve the user experience, as well as for marketing, analysis, and security purposes, data such as the following is collected:

  • Interactions with internal or external advertisements
  • Browsing behavior
  • Booking conversion rate
  • Aggregate site performance data

3.8. Contact and communications data: When the user communicates with InventMemories or completes forms on the website, data such as the following may be collected:

  • Name and email address provided in contact forms
  • Content of messages sent through forms or contact email
  • Additional information voluntarily provided by the user when making inquiries, support requests, or exercising rights related to their data

4. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

ersonal data provided by users through the platform will be retained for the time necessary to fulfill the legitimate purposes described in section 5 of this policy and/or until the user stops using the platform, closes the user account, or requests the deletion of their data. InventMemories may retain personal data for a longer period provided that the user has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. In addition, InventMemories may be obliged to retain personal data for a longer period if required to do so in order to comply with a legal obligation or by order of an authority. Once the retention period has expired, the personal data will be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right of deletion, the right of rectification and the right of data portability cannot be asserted after the retention period has expired.

5. PURPOSES OF DATA COLLECTION

InventMemories collects and processes users’ personal data for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes related to the operation and continuous improvement of the platform, as well as the provision of services offered to Hosts, Guests, and Providers. The purposes associated with each type of information are detailed below:

5.1. Personal data. Personal data is collected for the following purposes:

  • To verify the user’s identity and validate that they meet the age requirement to use the platform.
  • To facilitate communication between the platform and the user, including notifications, reminders, and operational messages.
  • To comply with security verification and fraud prevention processes.
  • To manage account access and protect account security.
  • To personalize the user’s experience based on their identity and stated preferences.

5.2. Registration and profile data. Registration and profile data is collected to:

  • Create and manage the user’s account within the platform.
  • Allow the publication of listings of spaces or services, depending on the user’s role (Host or Provider).
  • Publicly display relevant profile information to other users to facilitate decision-making in the booking process.
  • Allow users to edit, update, or delete their profile information according to their preferences.
  • Apply privacy settings, language, notifications, and other profile options.

5.3. User content. User-generated content is processed for the following purposes:

  • To publish and display listings of spaces or services within the website.
  • To enable interaction between users through the internal messaging system.
  • To enable the functionality of ratings and reviews after reservations.
  • To maintain a history of relevant content for future reservations, dispute resolution, or references.
  • To monitor compliance with the terms and conditions of use by analyzing the content generated.

5.4. Usage data. Information about the use of the platform is used to:

  • Offer personalized features based on user behavior.
  • Optimize the user experience by adapting content, interface, and suggestions for spaces or services.
  • Identify usage patterns and detect anomalous or fraudulent behavior.
  • Generate internal metrics on performance and service quality.

5.5. Data collected automatically by the website. This data allows InventMemories to:

  • Ensure the proper functioning of the website and its services.
  • Perform technical maintenance, debugging, and performance improvement.
  • Adapt content to the technical characteristics of the user’s device or browser.

5.6. Payment data (processed by third parties). Although InventMemories does not directly store payment data, the information associated with transactions is used to:

  • Process payments for space or service reservations.
  • Manage requests for withdrawal of funds by Hosts or Providers.
  • Confirm and record payments and collections in the user’s account.
  • Assist in the resolution of disputes related to financial transactions.
  • Carry out internal accounting and auditing processes.

5.7. Analytical and tracking data. This information is used for the following purposes:

  • Understand how users interact with the site and its features.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and traffic sources.
  • To improve the design of the platform, navigation, and booking conversion.
  • To identify areas for improvement and opportunities for developing new features.
  • To apply segmentation for personalized or promotional communication.

5.8. Contact data. Contact data is used to:

6. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

The personal information of our customers and users is an important and fundamental part of our platform. Under no circumstances will we sell or share information with third parties that has not been previously authorized by the user or owner of the personal data. We share user information only and exclusively as described below.

6.1. Third-Party Service Providers. We use third-party services to perform certain functions on our platform. Some of these functions and services include: website hosting (WordPress), data storage services, payment processing (Stripe), location services (Google Maps), sending emails, and performing tracking and analysis functions on the platform.

These third-party services and tools may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use that information for other purposes. Information shared with these third-party services will be treated and stored in accordance with their respective privacy policies and our privacy policy.

6.2. Newsletter and email marketing: By providing us with your email address, you consent and agree that we may send you marketing content and newsletters, notifications and information related to our platform. Therefore, your email address may be shared with third party bulk email services for the sole and exclusive purpose of sending you relevant communications. If you wish to stop receiving communications from InventMemories, you can unsubscribe at any time by using the “unsubscribe” option available in the same emails or by sending your request through our contact information.  

6.3. Business Transfers. In the event that InventMemories creates, merges with, or is acquired by another entity, your information will most likely be transferred. InventMemories will email you or place a prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to another privacy policy.

6.4. Protection of InventMemories and others. We release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce or apply our Terms and conditions and other agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of InventMemories, our users or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

6.5. With Your Consent. Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when personally identifiable information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.

7. PROTECTING YOUR INFORMATION

We grant access to your personal information only to those outside persons or services that have a legitimate need to know it and in accordance with our privacy policy. We adhere to industry-recognized security standards to protect your personal information, both during transmission and in storage. However, it is important to note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is foolproof and 100% secure. Therefore, while we at InventMemories strive to implement commercially viable data protection methods, we cannot ensure absolute security of your personal information. We undertake not to sell, distribute or transfer your personal data to unauthorized third parties, unless we have your explicit consent or are required by law to do so.

8. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATIONS

In the event of a security breach that compromises the confidentiality of our users’ personal data, InventMemories undertakes to notify those affected in a timely manner. This notification will be made through the means of contact that have been provided by the user on our platform. We will take all reasonable measures to protect the information and remedy any situation that jeopardizes the security of your data.

9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER

InventMemories may transfer users’ personal data outside of the United States due to the use of hosting, storage and processing services provided by third parties that operate servers located in different countries. These transfers are necessary to ensure the continued operation of the platform and to provide an efficient user experience. Although InventMemories is based in the United States, the technology infrastructure used may involve data being stored or processed in jurisdictions with data protection laws other than the United States.

InventMemories is committed to ensuring that all international transfers of personal data comply with applicable data protection regulations, including appropriate security measures to safeguard user information. This includes, but is not limited to, implementing standard contractual clauses, assessing the adequacy of data protection in the receiving country, and complying with applicable privacy standards on third party services.

By using InventMemories, users consent to the transfer, storage and processing of their data on servers located outside their country of residence, acknowledging that such transfers are necessary for the operation of the platform. InventMemories undertakes to take all reasonable steps to protect the integrity and security of personal data during such international transfers.

InventMemories users, regardless of their place of residence, have a number of rights in relation to their personal data, recognized by various international data protection regulations, including, but not limited to, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), and other similar privacy laws in force in the United States and other jurisdictions.   • Right of access: to request information about whether your personal data is being processed and, if so, to access that data and obtain a copy of the information stored, as well as to know the purposes of the processing, the category of data, the recipients, and the expected retention period.
  • Right of rectification: to request the correction or updating of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated personal data, to ensure that the information processed is accurate and adequately reflects the identity and situation of the user.

11. CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION

InventMemories is only available to users over the age of 18, therefore, we do not collect information from minors under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor under the age of 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take the necessary measures to delete that information and restrict their access to the platform.

12. THIRD PARTIES

Except as otherwise expressly included in this privacy policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information that InventMemories collects from you. If you disclose your information to third parties, whether other users or third parties, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. InventMemories does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. InventMemories is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of other websites, platforms or services, including those linked from our platform. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party websites, platforms or services you access through the InventMemories platform.

13. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. Changes will be promptly notified to our users through any electronic means and posted on the platform. Your continued use of our platform following such changes will signify your acceptance of the changes.
